Reconstruction of Calwer Junction

Complete rearrangement of the traffic routes at the Western entrance of the City of Sindelfingen due to the reconstruction of the Calwer Junction and a new electrified double-track Tramway line between Böblingen and Renningen.

  • Demolition of two existing bridges built in 1949 resp. 1962 and construction of a new single-span bridge with 12 m span and a total length of 30 m.
  • Construction of an extended flyover over the railway track as single-span bridge and a 140 m long tunnel built by open cut
  • Construction of a 110 m long and up to 7 m high retaining wall
