Rehabiliation of Neckar Crossing Heilbronn, Germany

Rehabilitation of 5 highway bridges with a total length of 1,3 km as part of highway A6 near Heilbronn. The rehabilitation program includes restrengthening of a prestressed concrete bridge by prestressed carbon fibre strips, conversion of the fascias and addition of noise protection walls and renewal of the corrosion protection.

With the carbon fibre prestressing method anchorage and jacking devices have been developed to prestress carbon fibre strips on the surface of reinforced or prestressed concrete, steel or timber structures. The system is extremely suitable for strengthening, repair and upgrading. Concrete box girder bridges can be prestressed in longitudinal, transverse and vertical direction.
