Extension of the regional library Württemberg Stuttgart

To secure the excavation pit during the extension of the regional library of Württemberg, an inserted girder supporting system, a dispersed drilled pile wall and overlapping drilled pile walls were used. Here, the inserted girder supporting system functions as temporary pit supporting system. The dispersed drilled pile wall compensated an existing canal in the street profile, in the same way, the overlapping drilled pile walls supported the already existing building of the regional library and the bordering main state archive. The supports of the new building, which are going through the already existing building, required a micro pile foundation of the lower foundations. In order to save space, site cranes were placed only on one side of the supporting girder.
