1. Prize in Danjiang Bridge Design Competition

LAP wins the Danjiang Bridge International Competition together with Sinotech Engineering Consultants, Taiwan, and Zaha Hadid Architects, London.

The construction of Danjiang Bridge and its access road is northern Taiwan’s most important transportation project.

Located at the mouth of Tamsui river, adjacent to Taiwan strait, Danjiang bridge is destined to become a notable landmark against the backdrop of Tamsui’s famous sunset.

Our design solution is a cable-stay bridge with only one mast: the one designed by our team is going to be the largest asymmetric cable-stayed bridge with single tower in the world.

This design minimises the impact of the structural elements onto the riverbed, helping to protect Tamsui River estuary’s ecosystems.

Bridge Facts

Total length of bridge: 920 m

Length of spans on either side of the single mast: 450 m span on the west side of the pylon, 175 m on the east side

Height of pylon: 175 m
