In a ceremonial act
on november 22nd the construction engineer and former
professor of the University of Stuttgart Prof. Dr.-Ing. Drs.
h.c. Jörg Schlaich was awarded with the "Fritz-Leonhardt
Preis" 2002.
The award is endowed with 20000 Euro. It was assigned for the
first time in 1999 and intends to honor exceptional masterworks
of constructional engineering and their creators. The Chamber
of Engineers Baden-Württemberg bestows the award every
three years.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Drs. h.c. Jörg Schlaich is worldwide known
for his bridges, towers, superfine structures and the development
of his Solar Tower Power Plant. |
