The carbon reinforcement of the composite slab in the form of mesh, bar and stirrup garland reinforcement from DBS GmbH was supplied and installed in the “Stadtgrabenbrücke Lübeck” pilot project.

The Stadtgrabenbrücke is a steel composite continuous girder that is clamped into the two abutments and monolithically connected to the supports. The cross-section consists of two external box girders with intermediate cross girders and a composite deck slab. The individual span widths are 13.25 m - 35.85 m - 14.10 m, the total span width 63.20 m and the width between the railings 6.50 m. The use of non-corrosive reinforcement means that no additional bridge waterproofing is required for this pedestrian and cycle bridge. Together with the corrosion protection of the steel structure in the form of spray galvanizing, the Stadtgrabenbrücke represents an innovation in bridge construction.
