The new suspension bridge with a length of appr. 900 meters and a main span of appr. 600 meters is currently under construction in Bergen, Norway. We are part of the engineering team as a 3rd party independent checker on behalf of TYPSA Norge. Statens vegvesen has contracted Sotra Link in collaboration with NRS A S for the construction works.

A special aspect of this project is the commitment to exclusively using digital planning methods from design to construction to maintenance - supported by digital models.

The current progress is already visible on site: After the installation of hauling and catwalk systems early this year, meanwhile the installation of the main cables has started. Both north and south main cable consists of 41 single strands of PPWS. 

Our project manager was on-site in Norway for the past few weeks to oversee the hauling and erection of the PPWSs (Pre-fabricated parallel wire strands). This is an important milestone in the construction of a suspension bridge and we are excitedly awaiting the successful completion soon. 

It is an honor and a pleasure to be working on one of Norways largest and most important bridge projects and to be able to support this project with our expertise and knowledge. We look forward to the coming milestones and progressing construction.
