Feasibility Study for the "New Main Crossing" launched

On 21 March 2023, the participating cities of Hanau, Maintal, Mühlheim am Main, the districts of Main-Kinzig and Offenbach and the Regional Association FrankfurtRheinMain officially kicked off the start of the feasibility study "New Main Crossing".

The contract for this feasibility study was awarded to the joint venture "InGe M24", to which we have joined forces with Kocks Consult GmbH (Koblenz), Bosch & Partner GmbH (Herne) and Brilon Bondzio Weiser GmbH (Bochum). The purpose of this feasibility study is to discuss at which location which type of bridge makes sense in terms of traffic, is structurally feasible and is economically viable. In addition to the effects of the bridge on local and regional traffic, the issue of environmental compatibility plays a central role.

As the first of three project phases, the traffic study is now being started. In phase 2 the study of variants will follow and in phase 3 the technical planning recommendation for the preferred route.
