Railway Bridge Humboldt Harbour Berlin

Railway Bridge Humboldt Harbour, Berlin

Railway bridge as east entrance to the New Central Railway Station, Lehrter Bahnhof, next door to the newly reconstructed Reichstag and the new seat of government. The replacement of the existing bridges consists of four 6-span girders. The 240 m long bridge has a 60 m main span which provides clearance for the navigation channel. Steel arches witz cast steel nodes and slender tubular steel columns support the prestressed concrete decks. This bridge type is new in the history of railway bridge construction.
